This book is a labour of love and I would like to express my gratitude and indebtedness to all those who inspired me for this work and contributed towards making the dream of this book a reality.

To my parents who offered me fundamental lessons in morality and righteousness and thus enriched my life. The two of them laid the foundation of whatever I am today, and for that I will remain indebted to them forever. Moreover, I have immensely benefited from their unconditional love, something that I have always treasured and will eternally cherish. Both of them are the central pillars of support for me. As such, I am indeed very blessed to have their continued love and guidance even today.

To my wife, Mamta, who has been a constant source of unwavering support and encouragement for me throughout my personal and professional life. My daughter, CA Shruti, and son, Mayank, who gave all the required inputs to keep me updated with the latest technological revolutions and thereby make a vital difference in my life. I feel blessed to be the father of these two wonderful, supportive, ethical and truthful children.

To my brothers, Dr Anil and Sushil; sister, Usha; and other family members and friends who chipped in with very pertinent observations and clear-headed counsel. They also helped me identify diverse and interesting subjects, thereby enhancing the scope and reach of my writings. Thus, they have all been enthusiastic supporters of this project.

To all my teachers during the phase of my academic pursuits and even after that, who transformed a novice like me into a well-informed professional who could construe the developments around and become a part of the process of nation-building, to whatever extent I have been able to, until today. My ideas about our society, our country and the world around us have been greatly influenced by them.
